Here's some helpful information when dropping off and picking up your student from school.

In front of the school facing Sharon Drive is our drop off & pick up lanes. There is absolutely no parking in these lanes. The north side of our school is for buses only.  

1.   There are 3 lanes in front of the school; the lane closest to the school, the center lane, and the lane closest to the parking lot.  

2.   The lane closest to the school and the lane closest to the parking lot are for drop off and pick up. 

3.   The center lane will be reserved for students to exit the vehicle safely and walk up to the cross walk to cross.

4.   Students should not be walking between cars-use the cross walk only. 

5.   Please do not drop off students after the staff member and cross walk.

6.   If your child is not ready to get out immediately please use the parking lot so it does not disrupt the flow of traffic.

7.   Please follow staff direction.

8.   Thank you for your help getting students safely and quickly out of cars.

PICTURE DAY is Wednesday, September 23rd, during your students Science class.Picture packets will be sent home one week prior to picture day and will only be accepted on picture day.Pictures can be ordered online through Dorian at https://mydorian.com/ before picture day and for up to 2 days afterwards.  All late orders will be charged a late fee.

VOLUNTEERS are needed for picture day on September 23rd.  We need 2-3 parents, for a few hours at a time, to help with students in our library.  If you are available to help throughout the day, please message the Bookkeeper, Michelle Olason, through Parent Square.

SPIRIT WEAR is available to be purchased through our online store with Northwest Creations.Both sweatshirts and t-shirts are available in 2 different designs and multiple colors.  Purchase yours now at https://nwcreations.store/explorer-spirit/shop/home.  Here are some examples of what is available to purchase:

Clothing: for students who qualify for free and reduced lunch, there is access to free clothing from two agencies: Clothes For Kids or Bright Start.  Clothes For Kids appointments can be made here for shopping with a parent and Bright Start forms can be sent home with your student to fill out and return to school with clothes being delivered to school in a few weeks.

All students eat for free at Explorer but qualifying for free and reduced lunch status can mean that some school fees like ASB cards (for participating in clubs and sports) are covered. If you aren’t sure your student is qualified already, the district website has more information: https://www.mukilteoschools.org/freemeals

Could you use some extra support with food right now?  There is a great website www.foodfinder.us where you can put in your zip code and see the food banks close to you.  We also have a handout in the school office with food banks close to school.

Did you know both Sno-Isle Libraries and the Everett Public Library offer free online tutoring with just a library card?  Everett Public Library has Brainfuse and Khan Academy: https://www.epls.org/423/Research-Learn and Sno-Isle Library has Brainfuse: https://www.sno-isle.org/teen-subject/homework-help/ Check it out!
