September 2nd is the 1st day of school for 6th graders only!

September 3rd, All grades attend (1st day of school for 7th & 8th graders)

We are very excited to welcome your new student to Explorer Middle School! We understand that transitioning to middle school can be challenging and a little scary for parents and students. To help ease the transition, we will have a 6th grade orientation assembly on the first day of school on Tuesday, September 2nd. Only 6th graders will be attending school on this day. We have some fun activities planned for them, they will also get to meet their counselor, administrator, teachers, classmates and WEB leaders.

New 7th & 8th graders will also have an opportunity to attend a new student orientation on this day. We will be signing up new students in the office.

We look forward to an amazing and successful 2025-26 school year!

Schedules are now available in Qmlativ. Paper copies will be given to students on their first day of school.

Bus routes are visible in Family Access.

In middle school, students living 1.5 miles will have a bus. If you live less than 1.5 miles, your child will walk to school. Please make sure your child knows their ROUTE # to get home. Transportation 425-356-1306

Returning 7th & 8th grade students who turned in their laptops at the end of the school year can pick up their laptops on their first day of school.

6th graders and new students will get their laptops on the first week of school.

We will have a variety of clubs available after school. An activity bus will be available and leaves school at 4:00 pm Monday - Thursday. More information to come soon. Students will learn about clubs in morning announcements, Schoology and on our Club Board across from the student office.

This year, all secondary schools will only have 1 activity bus. The route has been adjusted to reflect stops in the entire Kamiak service area. Students may have to walk much father than in previous years, or have parents meet them at the stops. The activity bus leaves Explorer at 4 pm Mondays thru Thursdays. There will not be an activity bus on Fridays. Students will give their address to the bus driver as they get on the bus. Students must have a pass from a staff member to be allowed on the bus. These are the only stops that the driver will make:

Season 1 Sports/1ª Temporada Deportiva: All students must fill out a Final Forms online sports eligibility packet online every year. All students must have a doctor’s physical every two years.
