Summer Office Hours

Our office is now closed for the summer beginning June 30th and will reopen Tuesday, August 19th from 9am-3pm Mon-Thu and 9am-12pm on Fridays.
Our Welcome back-to-school Extravaganza for currently enrolled students is scheduled for Tuesday, August 26th, from 4:00-6:00pm; more information to come in August.
 
Families new to the Mukilteo School District and Explorer can register for Fall on-line and in-person beginning August 19th. On-line registration can be found on the Mukilteo School District Website: https://www.mukilteoschools.org/Page/15280

1st day of school for 6th graders ONLY is Tuesday, September 2nd
1st day of school for 7th & 8th graders is Wednesday, September 3rd (everyone attends)

Summer Activities for Families

This summer, the federal Institute Of Museum And Library Services wants to help Americans explore our history and culture through the Free Museum For All program. Through Museums for All, those receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) can gain free or reduced admission to more than 1,500 museums throughout the United States simply by presenting their EBT card and a photo ID. Museum admission will be $3 or less. This includes several in Seattle and Tacoma, including the Museum of Flight, the Seattle Art Museum, the Museum of History and Industry, the Museum of Pop Culture and more.

Families can also qualify for discounted memberships for the following places:

Culture Access membership must be purchased and renewed in person at MOPOP. Culture Access memberships are valid for one year. Culture Access members will be asked to provide current proof of qualifying materials for participation and a valid form of photo identification matching verification documentation. Culture Access membership may not be combined with additional discount offers. Email membership@mopop.org with questions.
 

Seattle Aquarium

Recipients of EBT/WIC and ProviderOne services
Discounted one-time-use admission tickets or an annual membership is available to qualifying Washington state resident individuals and families. Discounts are available for Washington state residents only.
Tickets
$5 general admission tickets for adults and youth; children ages 3 and younger free
  • Limit of six tickets per household (toddlers excluded from maximum).
  • Tickets are available only at the Aquarium for the next available time slot. Online reservations are not available.
Memberships
$35 annual memberships
  • Family Plus level membership: covers two adults, up to six of their children (ages 18 and younger), plus one free guest with every visit.

  • Memberships available only at the Aquarium’s admission gate/next available entry time slot can be reserved at time of purchase.
Verification
Valid verification and photo ID must be provided at time of purchase. At least one adult must be present. Verification document can be provided by either an adult or child in the household. Acceptable forms of documentation include:
  • Washington Quest (EBT) card, WIC voucher/card, ProviderOne Services card.

Pacific Science Center

Pacific Science Center offers two membership programs for low-income families, foster youth, and youth experiencing homelessness.

Family Access Memberships are available to anyone who receives any form of public or government assistance.
Youth Access Memberships are available to foster youth, youth experiencing homelessness and their caregivers and any youth being raised by a relative or kinship caregiver who lives in Washington state.

  • Unlimited free admission to PacSci’s permanent exhibits for youth under the age of 14 plus any caregiver of a youth experiencing homelessness and any youth (14-21) in foster care or experiencing homelessness

  • 20% discount on member IMAX tickets, evening laser show tickets, and theater concessions
  • Early access to summer camp registration
  • $15 discount on camps
  • ASTC Passport Program – reciprocal admission to more than 350 science centers worldwide*
*A Pacific Science Center membership allows you to visit any ASTC museum for free. There are two restrictions to this rule: 1) The museum must be at least 90 miles AWAY from Pacific Science Center’s address and 2) The museum must be at least 90 miles AWAY from your home address. Each ASTC Travel Passport Program participating institution may have its own rules and policies regarding use of this benefit and how many members qualify for free admission. We always recommend calling or emailing ahead of time to find out what kind of proof and ID these institutions require for admittance.

School Clothes For Next School Year
If your family could use help with school clothes for the next school year, Clothes For Kids is an option for qualifying families. Sign-ups for shopping will open July 15th for appointments starting August 4th, 2025. You can find out more information and make appointments at https://clothesforkids.org/family-clients/

Mukilteo YMCA Food Bank
The Mukilteo YMCA has opened a new 24 hour food bank open to all at 10601 47th Place West Mukilteo, providing an opportunity for the community to both donate and access non-perishable food. For more information about the Free Food Pantry, stop by the Mukilteo Y or email ckelly@ymca-snoco.org.

SUN Bucks
Washington State’s SUN Bucks program is back for 2025. If you are currently individually qualified for Free and Reduced Lunch at school, you will want to make sure your address is up-to-date in our system for when the SUN Bucks cards are mailed out. If you need to sign up for Free and Reduced lunch, the information is available on the district website at: https://www.mukilteoschools.org/freemeals

Sports Physicals
Does your student need a sports physical for next school year? Summer is a great time to schedule with your primary physician. If that is not an option for you, there is a free sports physical event at Kaiser Permanente on June 21st from 9am to 1pm at 2930 Maple Street in Everett. For questions, contact Katie Shaffer at kathryn.j.shaffer@kp.org.
